History timeline PME

Plastic Machinery Equipment is founded by Willy Muylem and his wife Eliane in 1988. Drawing from his experience as a salesman at DVG, Willy began his own distributing company, introducing the local market to GEIGER equipment.

PME growing up

The ever growing succes urges Willy to expand his business. A company building is bought in Hezele and two employees join the team: Rony Van Grunderbeek and Annie Van Peteghem.

1992 – 1997 : reinforcing the engineering and sales departments

Wim Dhaeseleer is hired to oversee the EUROPLASTICA trade fair in Brussels. Proving to be adept in Robotics, he will later represent the Geiger brand to eventually being promoted as lead robotic manager.

Futhermore, Yves Drappier joins PME as sales representative for S+S metal detection systems.

Shift in management

By this time, PME has become a competent player in the plastic manufacturing industry. This is mostly due to the passionate work of it’s employers to gain the thrust of a vastly growing client base.

In April 1999 however, Willy (CEO), retires and sells the company to Guido Manhaeve.

Going into the new millenium, PME rapidly expands its existing employement, following the ever growing importance of automatisation solutions and granule processing systems.

In Augustus 2003 PME moves to a new location in an industrial zone: Industriezone II , Ballingsweg 25 Zottegem.

More space and better accessability contributes to an ever growing expansion.

Management Buyout

In May 2009, Yves Drappier takes the reigns of the company and subsequently rewrites the entire businessplan. Perfecting customer service and advancing technological applications being the new major goals.

Going abroad

In 2010 PME expands to the Netherlands in a joint venture with John Liebregts, who is aided by Mark Andringa and Martin Van Zuilekom. Not long after, Gerard Nijkamp joins the PME NL team. Using the same business template that garnered succes in Belgium.

New location for PME NL

In 2015  PME NL relocates to Breda, gaining new employees in the process to better serve the growing Dutch market.

… and a new place to call home

After careful deliberations with local officals, PME finally gets permission to build an entirely new complex in Zottegem. The new building is a huge step forward for the company, having a large storage and manufacturing space to better accomododate the growing complexity of projects and housing over 30 employees.
